Germany`s most beautiful views on wine ´Schönste Weinsichten`
The German wine institute (DWI) and the regional wine advertisings gave the award ´Schönste Weinsichten´ for one view point to each of the 13 German wine-growing areas for the first time in 2012. These are view points which have an especially spectacular view over the wine landscape. You can enjoy a unique flair and an almost Mediterranean ambience in the Max-Klinger vineyard in beautiful Großjenaer Blütengrund. Let your gaze wander over the idyllic Saale valley, surrounded with hills and with Naumburg`s skyline in the background.
Already the painter Max Klinger was enthusiastic about the mild light and the clear shapes of the strong colours of the landscape.
He invented the term ´Toskana des Nordens´ (Toskana of the north) by saying ´Here it´s like in the Toskana, just closer.´
The Blütengrund Großjena lies north of the town Naumburg in the centre of the Saale-Unstrut region between Bad Kösen, Freyburg and Weißenfels and in one of the most important tourist destinations in Saxony Anhalt. It is a part of all tourist holdings of Saxony Anhalt or touches them and is connected to regional cycling paths by the cycling paths along Saale and Unstrut.
The Großjenaer Blütengrund has developed into a favourite destination for relaxation, culture and active tourism because of the attractive landscape of the confluence of the river Unstrut in the river Saale. The Blütengrund is situated in the national park Saale-Unstrut Triasland and in the protection area ´Saale´. There is an impressive accumulation of historical, natural and cultural features.

You pass the confluence of Unstrut and Saale and then you can see the impressive ´Steinernes Bilderbuch´ on the right. These twelve larger-than-life pictures made in the sandstone wall tell about the work in a vineyard. You walk along the former residence of the painter and graphic artist Max Klinger with the cottage and the historic vineyard where the ´Schönste Weinsicht Saale-Unstrut 2012´ is to be seen heading Großjena. You cross the Unstrut Bridge in direction Kleinjena. The wine-grower village Roßbach awaits you with culinary stops at different vineyards.
Now you follow a path with the characteristic name ´Weinberge´ (vineyards) and walk along many ´Straußwirtschaften´ from ´Naumburger Steinmeister´ till a turning which leads you back to Naumburg´s city centre via Almrich.
