Wine-growing association e.V./ Advertising

The wine-growing association Saale-Unstrut e.V. is an association of wine-growers in the Saale-Unstrut wine-growing area. It stands for the representation of interests of the wine-growers as well as the preservation and promotion of the wine-growers and the wine cultural landscape. In 1990 the association was registered, in 1996 an office was opened in Freyburg and an advertisement was built up. It looks after the identification with the cultural goods in the region and increases the level of fame across the borders.

The tasks of the wine-growing association

The association organises festivals, initiates events, arranges seminars, designs printed media and several promotion articles and cares about an extensive interest in the media with constant press and public work.
The biggest festival in Middle Germany, the wine-growers festival in Freyburg, is organised by the business branch. At the Großen Gemeinsamen Jungweinprobe (a big common tasting of young wines), which is alternately organised with Saxon every year, there is a unique outline of about 150 different regional wines. Every year the Mitteldeutsche Weinbautag informs about all news in the field of the wine-growing and wine-growing policy. Furthermore the wine-growing promotion presents the wine region at well-known trade fairs like ProWein in Düsseldorf. Regular press tours tempt journalists in the region, keep you up-to-date with the philosophy and strategy of the resident wine-growers. A newsletter regularly informs about the latest development along Saale, Unstrut, Ilm; Elster and Mansfelder Seen.

The publication of several press media like image brochures, event flyers, posters, promotion articles, the magazine ´Nachlese´ are part of the tasks.
Extensive guest inquiries are also dealt with.
So the office is service and communication head office for wine-growers and vineyards, regional and national tourism and wine-growers association, trade fair and event manager, for journalists as well as tourist and wine lovers. Last but not least the association cares about the wine majesties in the area. That includes also training offers.

Granting of wine awards

The annual regional granting of wine awards puts a main emphasis. The quality of wine is professionally judged by recognized examiners and the sought-after gold, silver and bronze medals are given to the best of them. The criteria are set high. Such an honouring is precondition for taking part in the Bundesweinprämierung (a national granting of awards). The documents are handed over at a festival event and the awarded wines are offered for tasting to the public.

Who can become a member?

The membership in the wine-growers association can be acquired by full-time wine-growers or wine-growers as a side job, wine-growing communities, wine-growing companies and wine lovers.
